OK some of these people are wrong about some stuff. First of all I am a Mormon and have been all my life. So first of all we believe in God the father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. We believe that our church was restored by Joseph Smith after he received revaluation form God after praying to him about which church was right for him.We believe in the bible and the Book Of Mormon ( we follow both) We also believe in a thing called The Word of Wisdom. Which basically follows the saying of " Your body is a temple" So we don't drink, smoke do drugs, drink coffee, basically anything that can be harmful and addictive to your body we don't do. We do also believe that families can be together forever by being sealed for time and all eternity in the temple. So instead of till death do you part when you get married you know that when your loved ones die you will still get to be with them in the after life. We are basically a Christian based religion with some different out looks on things. Good luck on your search for answers. If you have more questions go to mormon.org and find out some missionaries in your area they can answer all of your questions. Good luck! Have a good day!

first of all, they're called Mormons.

Second, they worship the Lord Jesus Christ, not Joseph Smith unlike some people might say on here.

third, they have bible called the "Book of Mormon". The Mormon faith consider it as "Another Testament to Jesus Christ"

Fourth, church are every sunday. Usually, they start at 9:00 Am but you should call your nearest churchhouse to confirm the starting time because some meetings takes place later in the day.

fifth, they abhor from drugs, caffiene, smoking, tattoos, R-rated movies, revealing or indecent clothing (Ex: really short skirts, sleeveless and/or see-through shirts), etc.

and some more.

It's spelled "Mormon" for starters :) Officially known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They believe that when Christ was "dead" for 3 days, he was really over in South America, appearing to the lost tribe of the Jews (who came over via a long sea voyage a few centuries prior).

They believe that by following the bible, the book of Mormon, the Pearl of Great Price and the Doctine and the Covenants and by following those practices, we can ascend to the top heaven when we die. There are 3 heavens, and the top one is reserved for the most faithful. Devout mormons are "sealed for time and all eternity" to their families in temple rituals. Good mormons can ascend to godhood. "As man is, god was. As god is, man may become."

The founder of their religion was Joseph Smith, who (allegedly) found some golden plates in upstate New York. These golden plates were then translated into the Book of Mormon.

They believe Joseph Smith was a modern Day prophet.

They beleive that their God is one of Multiple Gods, and that if they follow the doctrine, that one day they will also become a God.

They believe that the their earliest anchestors came over to the US way before Columbus :) During the years following Christ's crucifiction... and that when Jesus died on the cross, he came over here to 'his new flock', that ended up becoming what is know today as the American Indians.

Well we have 13 articles of faith...

and seeing as how it's a lot different than conventional Christianity....(we have a living prophet we follow) it would be wise for you to go to... www.mormon.org or you can contact you local branch or ward and ask them to have the missionaries stop by.

The missionaries are the people that go door to door, you might have had an experience with them....anyway!!!!! they can answer any question you have...if they can't answer right away they will get the answer and will give it to you.

============

About what Captain Galactic said....we DO believe Joseph Smith, but we do not worship him.

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541
1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

They may believe in The Lord, but they also believe the lie of their foundation, and also write their own doctrine in addition to the Holy Bible. Polygamy was a sacred part of their original doctrine, and only had to be changed out of political expedience. Some still practice this, as evidenced in the media.

They believe that some fellow named Joseph Smith found some plates or something that said that Jesus came to America and stuff...and they used to be polygamists.
