I have been told that I don't follow the Jesus of the Bible, that I follow a different one. What makes you say that? Can you prove that?

Kris L.: You said: and you also don't believe that Jesus was 'the Son of God ... although you do believe he was 'a great prophet'

We believe that Jesus is the Only Begotten of the Father, who is God. Muslims are the ones that believe that Jesus was a Prophet.

I-see: 5. The only way to get to heaven is to give all your property to the church.
6. A woman must be subservant to her husband at all times, no matter what.

Where did you hear that one? I am a life-long member and have never heard that.

Probably the same people who say we don't read the Bible, or that we don't believe in God, etc., etc. What they mean to say is that our interpretation of the Bible doesn't match theirs, so we have a "different" Jesus. Our views may differ on some points of doctrine, but we're still talking about the same person.

Shorty,

These goons believe that Jesus is GOD the father son and holy ghost all rolled up into ONE.

When they ask "Do you believe that Jesus is GOD" that is what they mean.

They are too illiterate to understand that the tern GOD denote's a Priesthood Office, level of knowledge and Understanding.

He used himself as "The Holyghost" to impregnate Mary. He was his own Child, He was his own Father, He talked to himself about himself, and the "other comforter" is himself.

To the born wrongs, Jesus is an imbred dude who is not bound by any universal laws except his own.

To "Christians" He literally is not the Only Begotten of the Father, He IS THE FATHER THE SON AND THE HOLYGHOST.

In which case they completely ignore John 3:16

"For God so loved the world he gave his Only Begotton Son"

Only: "Alone in a class or category"
Begotton: "To Sire"
Son: "A human male descendant"

As you can see by Miriam Websters Definition, these clowns don't know what hell they believe.

These goons use the term GOD as one single person's name.

They do not and cannot understand the concept of eternal progression and the obtaining of GODHOOD.

After Judgement they think that they will sit on a cloud in front of Jesus for eternity strumming harps.

[19:16] Mention in the scripture Mary. She isolated herself from her family, into an eastern location.

[19:17] While a barrier separated her from them, we sent to her our Spirit. He went to her in the form of a human being.

[19:18] She said, "I seek refuge in the Most Gracious, that you may be righteous."

[19:19] He said, "I am the messenger of your Lord, to grant you a pure son."

[19:20] She said, "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me; I have never been unchaste."

[19:21] He said, "Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me. We will render him a sign for the people, and mercy from us. This is a predestined matter.' "

[19:22] When she bore him, she isolated herself to a faraway place.

[19:23] The birth process came to her by the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "(I am so ashamed;) I wish I were dead before this happened, and completely forgotten."

[19:24] (The infant) called her from beneath her, saying, "Do not grieve. Your Lord has provided you with a stream.

[19:25] "If you shake the trunk of this palm tree, it will drop ripe dates for you.

[19:26] "Eat and drink, and be happy. When you see anyone, say, `I have made a vow of silence; I am not talking today to anyone.' "

[19:27] She came to her family, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have committed something that is totally unexpected.

[19:28] "O descendant of Aaron, your father was not a bad man, nor was your mother unchaste."

[19:29] She pointed to him. They said, "How can we talk with an infant in the crib?"

[19:30] (The infant spoke and) said, "I am a servant of GOD. He has given me the scripture, and has appointed me a prophet.

[19:31] "He made me blessed wherever I go, and enjoined me to observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and the obligatory charity (Zakat) for as long as I live.

[19:32] "I am to honor my mother; He did not make me a disobedient rebel.

[19:33] And peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I get resurrected."

[19:34] That was Jesus, the son of Mary, and this is the truth of this matter, about which they continue to doubt.

Do you believe Jesus Christ is the son of God? Do you believe he died on the cross for your sins? Do you believe in the virgin birth and the resurrection of Jesus from the grave? Have you confessed your sins to him and adimitted that you need a Saviour? Have you ask him to come into your heart and save you and make you a child of his? If you have did all this and you know the Holy Spirit lives in your heart you are a child of God. Now I have always heard that is not the belief of your Church. But I don't know, I believe in the Bible, its authority is unquestionable. Is that your belief, that the Bible is the word of God? These questions you have to ask your self, Romans 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. If that is the Jesus you follow then you are saved!!!

Don´t you worry about Jesus being the right Jesus. You have a picture of him right inside your heart is it not???? You are as close to Jesus Christ now as nobody has been for a long time, and perhaps never will, you see...?

There is only one Jesus the Christ, He is the only one born in the flesh.
He was the Lord, and God of the Old Testament, He and Adam You and I created this world.

All other Jesus Christ are false.

Every denomination has a slightly different Jesus... which is the reason for the split in the first place.

Do what you conscience says is right. Follow the religion that makes you feel closest to the Deity.

Okay, if you are an LDS (Mormon) you believe that before the 'end' of Christ's life and his very 'short' ministry in Jerusalem, he somehow came to this continent (the Americas) and lived and taught here, and that he 'left' some 'golden tablets' that have never been actually 'seen' by anyone... and you also don't believe that Jesus was 'the Son of God ... although you do believe he was 'a great prophet' and you also believe that the Crucifixion saved us from our sins when Jesus died 'for us.'
You are 'semi-Christian' but it is the 'other stuff' that you believe that makes you not a Christian in the 'fullest' sense of the word.
That doesn't mean to imply that your religious group is 'bad' or even 'wrong' ... you have a truly MAGNIFICENT 'chorus' that sings beautiful hymns and carols (Christmas and otherwise, including the Messiah), you don't let your people 'starve' or go homeless, and you send EVERY PERSON out as a 'missionary' in a different state, different city to both 'evangelize others' as well as learn how to 'live without the parents watching over' ...
Yes, you do 'follow' the 'same Jesus' as the Christians do ... just not in the 'same way' or for the same reasons ... so you are of the Latter Day Saints, and not 'Christian' in the same way we are.

I've been told that too and I always ask...then why do we read and keep the bible as a sacred text?

------------

To CJ...why would we believe Jesus isn't God? Sure, we believe they're 2 seperate beings, but He said He was the son of God and "the father and I are one"....so way to try to tell me what I believe.

--------

To QED....I'm not sure where steel is mentioned(I'm new to the faith) but here is an article I read when I asked the question about horses.

I don't see any reason why your Jesus wouldn't be the same. You intend it to be so it is. The Koran makes reference to Jesus to so we can assume he is the same. There is no other "proof" other than what is written in religious texts. Trying to prove ideas based upon relgious assertions is like trying to prove my magic anti-terror rock has prevented post 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US. It's an argument grounded in nothing.
