It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk WORLD WAR THREE.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

If World War III comes, it will not be fought with guns, bombs, and such. It will (and some could argue, currently IS) being fought with currencies and international trade agreements/organizations on the plains of transitional and emerging markets.

As far as China and the two Koreas, you are seriously mistaken if you think they're going to be the source of any major global conflict. China has already invested its interests with the global economy and as such, now has too much to lose. It remains the only foreign government that North Korea maintains some semblance of diplomacy and alliance with and would never do anything against the grain of its western ally. I see North Korea transitioning toward a more stable government away from its hard ideologically regimented nature somewhere along the lines of what the PRC is doing. Kim Jung Il's children (as well as others in the executive cadre) are already being schooled on the "Chinese way."

Ever heard of the war that happened in Lebanon in summer 2006? Thats the prelude. Learn more about the middle east and you will find your so called "WW3"

NORTH Korea can and will most likely be solved by international diplomacy from major countries.

The problem is, all the US has done in diplomacy is screwed up. Cuba, Russia, Iraq... and the list shall continue...

World wars in the classic sense are a thing of the past. The world has become too small, and so interconnected financially that the only way a war of that scale could happen would be if a complete economic meltdown were to occur.

the only ingredient we want would desire to be annoying approximately is Iran, and its progression with a nuclear weapon. If Iran gets any closer to arising a nuclear warhead, the U.S. and different international places will step in certain. besides the undeniable fact that, Russia believes all and sundry would desire to depart Iran on my own. Russia needs to handle the subject by employing lifting sanctions against Iran. China disagrees. Israel will very quickly be employing protection tension action against Iran if progression of nuclear weapons keeps. Now, will this carry approximately a international conflict? very no longer likely. on the different, the U.S. is pulling troops out to bolster its boarders back at abode, fairly the boarders between Mexico and the U.S.. drugs can not be stepping into the U.S., alongside with unlawful immigrants . in addition to, unlawful weapons from the U.S. can not be stepping into into Mexico and offering the drug cartels. as nicely, debt is debt. Wars have shown to help with debt interior the previous, yet no u . s . a . right now or any time, in fact, needs to start yet another conflict, a conflict is the final ingredient any good u . s . a . needs. For now, international places, such because of the fact the U.S., can basically have endurance and look forward to the economic device to get better; adequate has been positioned into attempting to repair the economic device.
