If she is properly exercised then she should be fine. If you take her on a good long walk every morning and make her *work* then she should be fine.
Whoever posted not to leave a dog along is wrong. If you leave a dog who hasn't been challenged or worked yet that day is still full of energy, then yea, not good to leave her where she'll need to find a way to work off her energy. But dogs who are tired out automatically go into a resting stage so there's no reason she won't be able to stay along.
PS- also, don't think that just running her around with a ball for a bit will count. Actually this sort of activity is worse because it stimulates the dogs mind, even if the body is tired, so your dog just ends up frustrated. Long walks tire the dog and RELAX them, so that they are able to rest while you're gone.

it would be quite an adjustment. husky's are known to have lots of energy. if you plan to leave her alone for long periods of time whereas before she would be with your mother, then she may end up doing these things. take her with you but have a neighbour check up on zoey every so often just to make sure she isnt getting into any trouble. and worst case scenario if things dont work out zoey can always stay with mom.

Sorry but having had one I know that apartment living is not exactly the best situation. It is possible to make it work out but not very likely. Siberians are lovely dogs but they NEED a great deal of exercise (if you don't already know that) and if they don't get it they will be miserable and indeed make your life miserable too. I would say that two walks a day would be the minimum, if you're up to that then it could work out fine.

We have a Siberian Husky (Coby) and we live in an apartment. We got him from a family who left him outside all the time. He adjusted just fine and it did not take him long at all.

Taking your dog with you is a very good thing, A lot of times people just dont care and leave their pet behind not caring or considering how this effects your friend. That makes you very A very responsible pet owner! Be proud because this is very GOOD! And the answer to your question is he will be the same friend as before because your friend still has you! Before i bought my home i had very small apt. And my irish wolfhound was with me who i lost 5 years ago do to old age, he was 15 years old!

I say try it out and if she changes send her back to your mom's until you can find a different place that you think she might like more. If she has always been calm I don't think that you will have a big problem with her. Her disposition shouldn't change. Good Luck.

A lot will depend on the quality of time you spend with her. If you are getting her out to get plenty of excercise so that she actually get tired playing, she will be happier and so will you. If she doesn't get enough attention and excercise, she will have extra energy to expend and that is when trouble will start. She will find her own ways to amuse herself and they aren't usually anything we humans are happy with. Don't ever leave her out without your supervision. If she isn't trustworthy when you are gone, you will have to crate her. You probably would like your pet deposit back when you move out of the apartment.
As long as she feels she is getting lots of attention from you, she will probably be fine.

I don't think that any of those bad things will happen if your dog is calm and happy.
