Hematologist

Oncologists work with the malignancies that are 'solid': breast cancer, lung cancer, liver, sarcomas, carcinomas, melanomas, etc.

Hematologists work with diseases and disorders of the blood and bone marrow: leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and thalassemia, sickle cell, etc. as well.

A huge number of them have done training in both hematology and oncology and are called 'heme/oncs.'

If you have leukemia, you need a hematologist or a heme/onc.
