People are used to translate articles and speeches from very ancient times. What are its benefits

there are so many benefits such as;becoming aware of other countries' cultures and customes and literature, getting information from the source language, etc.
If they didn't translate the articles and such things the science wouldn't develope.

The idea is to take what's expressed in one language and put it into words in another language which will convey the proper meaning in a clear way. This is not a very easy task since every language has so many idiomatic expressions which are very hard to translate.
