About 9 months ago my sister was in an accident.....long story short, she is wheelchair bound. She is very independant, she has a very hard time asking for help. She can no longer get into her bathtub or on to the shower seat by herself, she has a nurse to help her twice a week, but she is kind of obsesive.......last week she told me she uses Clorox Wipes on herself between showers! Now I know this can't be good, but I'm not sure what would be better. Please help me, help her!

instead of clorox wipes, which are NOT good for you, get her some baby wipes..they are gentle and don't have bleach (or alcohol) in them.

There is also no-rinse shampoos and soaps that you can buy wherever convalescent aids are sold. This may help her feel a bit more independent as well.

She should feel fine with bathing/showering twice a week. As long as she uses a good deoderant/anti-perspirant, she probably doesn't get real dirty.

Instead of the Clorox Wipes, she should use a washcloth with soap. If that's too hard, how about baby wipes. That would be a lot better. I'm sorry for her accident. :)

My husband does the same thing as yours. Now, when I clean, if I'm in a good cleaning mode, I'll dust, mop, scrub, and disinfect. But mostly I write notes and ask the boys to do stuff.

Clorox wipes are probably not as bad as they sound; they don't contain bleach.
