Not everybody! I like him and I love all the Hendricks boys, and I will continue to love Kyle Busch too! Honey I don't know how long you've been a nascar fan, but you will always see certain fans hate the best of the best. Jeff Gordon is and will ALWAYS be one of the best drivers in nascar. It don't matter how many wins he has, or the number of records he has broken (including Dale Sr. they really hated that) how smart he is, the talent he has as a driver, none of that matters, the haters will continue to hate him, the more he wins, the more the jealousy kicks. You will always hear them bad mouth any driver who dominates. or they call them cry babies, or cheaters., what is really stupid, people (haters) hate my driver just because Jeff Gordon is part owner of the 48 and 48 rules. It don't matter how talented he is or that he is a champion or that he has 6 wins this year. Just remember what it all comes down to is JEALOUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally don't hate Jeff Gordon, and this is coming from a Jr. fan(and no this has nothing to do with Jr driving for HMS next year I still can't stand Johnson). Pretty much the reasons above are true. There's also the perceived rivalry between him and Dale Earnhardt, which persists to this day despite it be documented that this was far from the truth. I simply can't argue the fact that he can drive the wheels off a car.

NASCAR until within the last twenty years was strictly a south-eastern sport. The men who drove and worked in NASCAR were "good ol' boys" and when a good-looking young man from California came in and starting winning races, the fans didn't take to him. Gordon dominated the late 90s and early into the new millenium by winning over seventy races and four Winston/Nextel Cup Championships. Many view his success as a product of the technological breakthroughs that were occurring in auto racing over this time.

He came from open wheel racing, is from California, is a really awesome race car driver, and when he came to NASCAR he won a lot of races early on. This sport was founded in the South, so a guy from Sunny CA didn't sit well with the good old boys.

I agree with the folks who said they don't hate Jeff. He is a great driver and a serious philanthropist. He built a children's hospital in Charlotte and is very active in the NASCAR Foundation. He has raised a bunch of money for good causes. I think he is awesome and he isn't even my driver!

Everybody does not hate Jeff Gordon. I'm not a fan of his at all, but that doesn't mean I hate him. I didn't like his attitude when it came to racing. Jeff is a very aggresive driver. If someone gets wrecked because of this, then he says its just racing. If the same happens to him because of someone elses aggresive driving, he complains. I don't like his double standard.

I don't hate Gordon but I don't like him. Jeff has always been a whiner about everything and his team has always been on the edge as far as cheating. The too slick CA look doesn't sit well with the fans and the fact that he is from Indiana, California or North Carolina depending upon who he talks to seems to irritate a few people too.

Not everyone does--If Jr. fans will admit it they are the most vocal and livid Jeff Gordon haters.

I don't hate him. I rather like him, actually.

Most common reason is because he's a winner, and everyone loves to hate a winner. That, and he's expressed his opinions in a bit of a whinny way before.

Come on, people. I like Jeff, and even I say he's whined a few times.

Don't hate him, but don't like him, and it has nothing to do with his winning so much. As everybody has already said, he's whiny. I personally get the impression that he looks at the average NASCAR fan with contempt.
