ok when were on our way to school we take the school bus and when he gets on he counts 3 rows then sits and if he doesn't he feels weird until he does it again the next day. also feels things aren't right and wants to do it over and over even though it is good. also rinses out a cup 3 times because he's afraid of choking on soap, and he had an eraser and saw it was uneven and kept erasing to make it even and got frustrated when it didn't get even. is this serious? should he see a doctor?

..also he gets mad at people if his "routine" is broken and also doesn't let go of things easily ( like if they say something he doesn't like)

Hhmm, I don't think so...instead of just "feeling weird" until he does it correctly the next day, someone with untreated OCD can't do ANYTHING until he repeats the obsession correctly. Can your friend function through the day if his routine is disturbed? People with OCD usually don't do well at work, school, relationships, etc - the obsessions can be more important than work, eating, or even loved ones.

HOWEVER, it sounds like there may be other issues under the surface. Not a bad idea to talk to a doctor.

I would say yes, he has ocd. You don't have to seek treatment, but if it is disrupting your life then they have medication to keep it under control. If you think that he needs help (like he is frustrated to the point where he becomes angry at himself or others) then it might be a good idea to suggest that he sees a doctor.

Yep, sounds like OCD. Seeing a doctor would be a good first step :-)

only if he feels this is bothering him, yes, he should see a doctor. It's not that serious IMO
