why are there no chloroplasts in onion cells?

because onion cells don't need chloroplast as Onions are considered root crops! Chloroplast is use by plants to manufacture its food through the aid of sunlight. so, truly this explains how Mighty is the Creator God!

Onion bulbs grow underground where there is no light. Chloroplasts are for photosynthesis which requires light. No reason for onion bulbs to have chloroplasts. However, onion leaf cells do have chloroplasts.
