I'm too full of emotion to rationalize right now.?

Question

I was dating a man who said he really cared about me and called me every night (long distance relationship). He would try to help me with my daily stress by lending an ear. We would be together on the weekends but usually only on his terms (i.e., me at his place cuz he did't want to be a mine cuz i have kids). He was always nice to me when I was there, but had a hard time getting him to do fun things that I enjoyed. I finally told him I couldn't handle being apart like that and he said it was ok for him. He did not want a "committed" relationship. Then under intoxication he told me he loved me, but the next day took it back and asked if we could just be friends. I told him to quit messing with my heart, and he told me he thought i thought he was an asshole and i hung up. Haven't heard from him....texted him and told him i was sorry for anything i ever said that was hurtful. end of story. i am in pain. help?

FRIENDS LOVE!!! RRRR please lesson to me so you don't confused like the rest of these sheep out here. Realize you can't have a friendship with out love, and that saying I love you doesn't mean its a commentment, you guys are so clueless about whats really going on you descided to base your relationship on how others handling it, NO DON'T EVER DO THAT!!! Take everything with a grain of salt, even me, espacially me!!! Just realize a good relationship ended because he couldn't be confident with a commentment, but does that destroy the love? NO thats why you hurt, words don't end love, actions don't end love, love leaves scars thats it, now learn from this one, call this boy, get ahold of him, and call him on this fact, he loves you, these friends bs proves it, now it comes down to what you guys want to do with that love, if you guys can wrap your head around getting away from the traditonal, from the classical, you can make something much deeper...... lets just say your a classic case of why in our society friendship is actually better then being someones lover, atleast then we have to ACT like its unconditional, but when we love its all are nothing, thats conditional... which brecks thousands if not hunderds of thousands of hearts each day, for no reason other then there idiots, sorry just being brutally honest, this stuff gets to me, because it would make life so much more intense if we knew just how much power and influence we COULD have inside each others lives......
