He is always on sportscenter, getting all the pub, etc. but, he doesn't win a thing. Am I wrong? I'm not a big nascar guy, but, why all the attention to an also-ran?

know it all...I'm asking a question to get the facts. If I knew already I wouldn't ask. Besides, 4th best is not the best. But I appreciate everyone's answers so far, not trying to rile you up!

They might be similar if Anna Kornakova had won 17 major tournaments, then had to use Walmart bad mitton rackets and fishing boots for the past 2 years and she hadn't won during that time.

Grouch 21 I agree with you 100% on the Sports Center and publicity stuff. The Tv Network and especially the race announcers are Jr. Fanatics--Heres how is goes --Ok race fans Jr. is moving to the front he just passed Elliot Sadler for 20th position. OR Dont look now but Jr. Is making his way to the front after his mishap on Pit road he just passed Bill Elliot for 25th position. Why not announce like this for other drivers???? Announcers are supposed to be unbiased!!!! Many-Many driver never get a word spoke about them or 10 seconds worth of visual coverage in the entire race. Plus all the TV Commercials of Jr. Constantly during the race. The Announcers even interview him when he finishes out of the top 10 just like they do the top 5 finishers---Why not do this for Newman or Kennseth and others? The Main problem is this The TV Networks and Announcers cater to the squeakiest wheel. Plus they cant do simple MATH!!! It is easy math== Stewart fans+Johnson fans+ Gordon fans+Harvick fans+ Kennseth fans+ The Bush Brothers fans+ The rest of the drivers fans=FAR FAR FAR MORE FANS THAN THE JR. NATION. Simple Fact!!!!

Actually, this has been his worst season (but it ain't over yet). He has won 17 races in the Cup and has two Busch Series titles. He's have to win a lot over the next decade or so to get his name up there with the immortals, but he can do it.

That, my friend, puts him way ahead of Anna K.

He piggybacks off his fathers name. If he was Dale SIMMONS or something he wouldnt even have a ride cause the man just doesnt have the talent and the instincts like Gordon, Stewart, Johnson and others.

Judging by his fans, he is the Bill Clinton of NASCAR. remember any time another scandal broke on Clinton the spin machine immediately went after the accusers. Clinton himself was never at fault, it wa the "vast right-wing conspiracy". Now Jr's fans have the "vast Teresa Earnhardt conspiracy". How gullible these folks are ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!

actually, since his rookie year in 2000, only 3 drivers have won more races than junior. jeff gordon, jimmie johnson, and tony stewart. and all 3 of them are in far superior equipment. so that makes him the 4th winningest driver in NASCAR since 2000, hardly an also ran. and there are many more wins and probable championships in his future now that he will finally be in top notch equipment. so next time learn your facts before asking stupid questions.

hey lilaudrey, you sexy little thing. you make me hungry for m&m's

hey smokinuracing you are one funny dude. pathetic, but funny. i got a great laugh reading your profile about how you are a tire changer. what a joke. we all know the real story is you live with your parents and have a minimum wage job. you love richmond huh? ok, well tell me then, where is the vehicle tunnel located? where is the pedestrian tunnel located? when you walk out of the pedestrian tunnel into the infield, where is the bush garage? the cup garage? and victory lane? if you can answer these questions correctly i'll believe you are in a nextel cup pit crew. if you can't, everyone here will know the truth, that you are totally full of sh*t

Well, he does win races. He just hasn't won lately.

Besides, in order to be considered the Anna Kournikova of something, wouldn't that mean that you not only get publicity but you can't win anything either?

Actually no, I would'nt want to see Jr. in one of those little white tennis dresses. Seriously if you looked at where he was in the field when the engines blew, you'd notice he was at or near the front. It'd be one thing if he was running mid-pack but if his car's good he's got a pretty good chance of winning a race.

Not at all! He might not be winning as many races as some of the other guys but he is a great driver with great finishes...at least when his can isn't down with a stupid engine problem. He is more like the Susan Luchie of Nascar.

He has won over a dozen or so races but not a championship. But a lot of good drivers that have never won a championship like mark martin or ricky rudd.

When it comes to Anna Kournikova, I just want to see her nekkid, in my bedroom.
As for Jr., I just want to see him fully clothed, in the winner's circle.......
