In a world of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. -George Orwell
This scene caused by one student asking a legitimate question really shows how WE THE PEOPLE are becoming WE THE SLAVES as we are having our own Constitutional rights stripped from us. So this is the new America, huh. Personally, I'm totally against this police state we're in. And it's hard to believe that 5 police officers had trouble with 1 student.
Oh, and by the way, John Kerry is a member of Skull & Bones. There's pictures for people to google up.

Generally I am in favor of the use of the taser, however I think that in some cases the police fall in love with using it and watching the reaction. In a one on one police versus person, I'm all for the taser and if the potential criminal has weapons or is known to have previously had weapons.
However a group of 3 or more policemen should be able to take down and arrest a normal male or female without a great deal of trouble.

I am amazed that some people answering this question are anti - cop.Because so many people claimed police brutality in the past is why Tasers,Teargas, And Rubber Bullets, are used to effectively control a person today, yet they still cry foul !

He was asked to stand down in a respectful manor by the very police that would run to his defense in his time of need,
He chose not to, thus disrespecting the authority that controls a civilized society.

This guy is a known trouble maker. However, I do not know if you recall a few months back (see link) about an Iranian-American student who was taser'd for a far less of an offense. This kid was taser'd for not having his campus ID at the libary.
I think their is a trend with law enforcement at colleges these days. Since student's are becoming more politically active today and are very against the status quo (republicans and dems alike), their is an order to supress their voices. I do believe though that kid in Florida was a trouble maker but their is an element of facism in this whole incident and a trend going on regarding colleges and authority.

He should never have gone up there. He should have listened to the police. It's not like their instructions were complicated.
What pisses me off most is that the cops got suspended for doing their freaking job. If they were going to go through that crap, they should have snatched their spark plugs out of their patrol cars and given him another zap.

I thought it was the moment of Glory for all democrats and liberals, this kid is the by product of what Morons.org is breeding, and it was first such incident where their own hand is slapping their face.
What Democrats are breeding is Anarchy.

Americans should visit Florida more often. They'll experience first hand the first real "police state" of the nation. That's all I will say on the matter.

The fact is you dont argue with the police. He was warned he would be tased, and was still flailing around. Getting tased is better than getting his arm broken to get him into the cuffs. You obey cops, argue in court.

I haven't heard the whole story, but unless the gentleman was violent and not just vocal, it was an abuse of police power. Tasers should not be used if you just want to shut someone up! Misuse can lead to death, and should have only been used to prevent imminent physical harm to police officers or others. They are used too often these days as are surveillance cameras, and further expand "police state mentality."
