That depends on the state of your overall health. If you have no clotting problems, or anemia, you can try magnesium salicylate (brand name Momentum, Doan's). You can buy it over the counter. It usually comes in 580 mg. pills. Start out taking one every 6 hours, and if it does not work, take 2 every six hours. Don't do this for more than a couple of weeks without seeing your doctor, as it is a NSAID and can cause bleeding and stomach problems with very long term use. Hope this helps!

I do not know of any back conditions CAUSED by a drug deficiency. Therefore, NO medicine (prescription or OTC) is 'best' for your back. If you are having back problems, it may be best to see your family Chiropractor for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. It is usually 'best' to treat the cause and not to just treat (or mask) the symptoms.

Best wishes and good luck.

Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) Is great with any kind of aches and pains. I've used it myself plenty of times. The only problem is you can't use it for real long periods of time (meaning daily for weeks, or months). So if your pain is on going go to your general Doctor or your chiropractor if you have one. They'll be able to allievate the long term pain if there is any.
