I'm trying to help my aunt who got a notice in her visa card state-ment from chase, that said there'd be a new way of figuring her finance/interest & minimim payments, coming up. She called them for infor. on what this would mean for her so she could plan for any increase but the reps claim they dont know nothing about the form she got, no one will call her back, & she's lost as to where she can go to decipher the long complex printed & undated enclosure she got. I also don't know what to tell her. Where should I call to get help with the answer, then worry about major complaining at later date? Is there a consumer rights place or something? Anyone else get the notice, & how did u handle it? Hurry! Thanks.

I had same problem with same card, got shuffled from person to person, wound up going in 1 huge circle, think they did it on purpose just to give me a hard time. No advice, it oughta be against the law, no other business could operate this way, fault of our dear Congress in not clamping down. I got similar notice, all payments on time but can't pay balance off and think there's a right to know what exactly they are doing. Any lawyers or paralegals here? Advice? I need help about this too. Mine said daily compounding but I couldnt follow their incomprehesable instructions, they made no sense, and the customer service people claaimed they knew nada, just played dumb. Maybe some public complaints on public sites will help get more responses.

Chase is buying up a lot of other credit card companies. I'm sure there's some re-organizing to standardize terms.

Have you tried calling customer service a second time? Sometimes you get a smarter person and can get an actual answer.

Failing that, your aunt may just have to wait and see.

Pay off the entire balance on the card and do not use it again. As long as the balance is zero, there will be no more finance charges, interest, or minimum payments. Problem solved.

If she needs to use a credit card, have her get one from a more responsive company.
