Hello all. Normally I do not ask questions or seek help from others, but I think in this case I may need too. Long story short I am a married graduate student working on my M.Div. I doing the whole working and going to school thing and it can be pretty hard on the finances as you are all aware. My school decides to offer this to too Israel and view the Holy Land and to study at a nearby University for a month. I can transfer the credits back to school. I really want to go but need to come up with about $5,500 by the spring. Any ideas?

Ask your church/national leadership of your denomination. Apply for a scholarship. Ask your advisor for any suggestions he/she might have.

Contact a local Jewish Federation in your town and ask them if they know of any programs that offer grants or loans for Educational trips to Israel.

That or a religious organization that you are acquainted with.

A bank loan? How about your church, would they do it? You could also seek contributions by setting up a website and explaining it. I know of a case where a woman did this just because she ran up credit card bills and she got so much money she made money on it.
I don't have any other suggestions but wish I did.
Good luck!
