I am 21 and still have pimples. What is your expereince with acutain...did it change your mood? Did it even work? How do I go about getting a perscription?

I've never been on acutaine, but have heard of it & it's results. I don't recommend. I heard it tends to cause mood changes, & depression. I suggest going to a dermatologist maybe trying retin-a (which i actually did try when i was younger). It does cause redness, in skin, & sun sensitivity, but not mental changes. I honestly think that simple clearasil worked better then that though. When you put on pimple cream only put it on the pimple, & not on the rest of your skin, don't rub it on just dot it. Never go to bed without washing your face first, NEVER (guarantee less breakouts) use oil free makeup & don't share with frenz, & lastly don't stress too much about it. Stress causes break outs too.

Accutane (the right spelling) is a very potent treatment for cystic acne, not run-of-the-mill pimples.
I took it for about a month when it first came out 25 years ago. It did get rid of the cysts and totally changed my skin so even blackheads came out easily.
You get a prescription for it the same way you would get one for any condition; you see your doctor.
