HMS already had a commitment to National Guard and PepsiCo for next year. There simply was no room for Bud at HMS. That's all.

HMS already had a contract with PepsiCo in place which prevented them from signing another beverage as a sponsor. Therefore Budweiser could not follow Junior. Besides, when Budweiser left HMS to sponsor Jr, the parting was not on the best of terms.

HMS already had sponsors in place so Bud decided to sign with another popular driver. I'm shocked they picked Kahne since he don't look like a beer sort of guy.

Rick had contracts with other sponsors. Why does everything have to revolve around Jr. He wants to get into our cars because we have the best stuff, he can get a new sponsor.

Personally, I think his new car looks a lot cooler. Martin Truex has a better looking car. Now I wanna see a car with a drug corporation as a sponsor. I miss the Viagra car. Even Kurt Busch has a better beer on his car (except it's light beer)

Excellent question and one many people do not want to realistically answer. They did not want to renew with him. There was not an official announcement as to a reason, but I would guess that it was a direct result to his performance. Although JR is very popular, his popularity percentage rating has been steadily slipping. I believe that they have recognized this and have decided to go with a younger driver that is growing in popularity i.e. Kasey Kane.
