A good bedtime for an 11 year old is one that gives the child enough sleep. A child of this age needs about 7 hours of sleep a night. However, if your 11 year old is grumpy in the morning, an earlier bedtime may be more appropriate.

I'm 11 and I have to start getting ready for bed at 11:30 PM on weekdays. I wake up at 6:00 AM and I'm ready for the day, not tired at all. On weekends I have no bedtime as long I has I'm in the house by 11:35 PM.

During school 9-9:30 (no later than 10:00); really depends on what time they have to get up. Weekends 10-11. However I've very strict on bedtime. My son is 9 and goes to be at 9 during the week and 10 on weekends and no school days.

It really depends on the child. I have an 11 year old boy who all his life has not "needed" sleep-- naps? At 2? Who needs em! Sigh... I was dying for him to need more sleep!!
But now that his body is starting to change and his activities are using up so much energy, he is dragging more in the morning, so we gauge that at night.
In our house, which may be a bit unusual, we can be in bed as early as 8:00, depending on what's on the next day and how hard the boy was to get up in the morning. Definitely lights out by 9 PM no question, for our kid. Mind you, sometimes we'll talk in the dark for 20 minutes or so just to end the day on a nice, snuggly note, but not everyone can do that. Our son knows the routine, and he's happy with it.
If your child can function well without being crabby etc., on X number of hours' sleep, that's the way to go. All kids are different. But in my vote, we'd be looking at no later than 9 for Sun - Thurs nights. But when there's crankiness, clumsiness, or general tiredness, it's earlier.

9:30-10 PM. Atleast 5-10 minutes before bedtime have them start getting ready. On weekends 10:30-12:00, if you have something to do the next day, 10:30.

I have 5 kids. One is only 2, but the others are 11, 13, 15 & 17 (6th, 8th, 10th & 12th grades). They have to get up at 5:30 a.m. to catch their busses at 6:30 a.m. Up until this year, they were all going to bed at 9:00 p.m. This year, the 11 y.o. and 13 y.o. are still going to bed at 9, and the 2 older ones get to go at 9:30. None of them have ever complained, so I know it is necessary rest for them. If a child is not getting adequate rest, they are not going to be able to function at school correctly, and this means absorbing/comprehending what they are learning, and also, they are not going to learn if they are sitting there falling asleep. Grades will reflect this perfectly. My children are all A/B students, and always have been. The one year we let our girl who is a senior now go to bed at 10 or 10:30, her grades fell, and this was due to being tired. We changed her bedtime back to 9 and the grades came back up. Anyone who thinks any differently is crazy. (In my opinion of course!)
Good luck!!! ;o)

I'm 11 and I don't have a bedtime..Last year, in 5th grade it was midnight but my parents realised I dont need much sleep (seriously, I dont, dont call my mom and dad bad parents, even though I hate them) so now I stay up till like 2 or 3 and I'm fine in the morning. If I'm not, I fake sick, though and I sleep till like 1 or 2.
