I assume the bridal party song is right after the first dance? Correct me if I am wrong? Should the song be fast or slow or does it matter? Would it be wrong of me to torment my bridal party with my warp sense of humor and make them all dance to Vanilla Ice?
Ice Ice Baby?? Or How about the Spice girls- I’ll tell you what I want, what I really really want?

I think using an upbeat funny song like Ice Ice Baby is a great idea! I am sure that your friends/family in the bridal party already know your personality and it is your day so I say go for it! Sounds like fun!! Wish I had thought of it!

Go for it.. I don't see anything wrong with it..

We did the Chicken Dance at my wedding with the wedding party and they had a blast.. Let me tell you, it got the party moving.. I had people on the dance floor all night long!

The main reason I choose a fast dance was, I had a fairly large group there was 19 in my wedding party and I didn't want anyone to feel awkward having to dance with someone they didn't know. So fast song it was.. I think your idea for Ice Ice Baby would be alot of fun...

Congrats on the Wedding and Good Luck To Ya!

I think it should be up beat and fun. I am not sure about the choices above unless your whole bridal party has a great scene of humor. If they do go for it but if not I wouldn't! That is just my thought though (only a few people in my wedding party would have fun with it) Ask your DJ for fun up beat songs that your bridal will enjoy. They have thousands of songs to chose from. Best wishes to you on your special day.

The songs you're talking about are definitely love songs, which doesn't really fit with a bridal party dance. Do a friend song, unless you're going to let the bridal party dance with their own dates. Some people might be uncomfortable dancing with the person they escorted down the aisle, especially if they don't really know or like that person. Some good upbeat friend songs are "You've Got a Friend in Me" (Keb Moe), "You're My Best Friend" (Queen), and "We Are Family" (Sister Sledge). Or, just do an upbeat song like "Celebration" (Kool and the Gang). I'd avoid slow songs. I know I'd feel awkward if I was forced to slow dance with some guy in a bridal party.

TALK TO THEM FIRST.

If they are all in favor of it then go for it.

I thought it would be fun to have my bridal party dance to a fast song... considering that most of them were married or in a serious relationship. I was wrong. As soon as they found out that I picked a fast song they thought I was nuts. So when the Best Man (my hubby's brother) complained about it, I told them to just pick a song they wanted to dance to.

Here I thought it would be LESS awkward for them rather than slow dance with someone other than their spouse... I guess not.

If you are having a father/daughter, mother/son dance, that comes right after the first dance. Then the bridal party dances, then family, then open to everyone.
Go ahead with the fun song!

we had the bidal party come half way in to our song .we had every thing i do by brian adams. after our song had finished we had all the old school songs, that was when the parents songs came on. we found that it was much easier for the divorcees.
to make sure every one is comfy, why don't you have a fun song when the bridal party is entering the reception. we did that too.
we had every body dance now by bob sinclare, mainly because thatis what our real song is.
but the song that the brides maids and grooms men walked into was put your hands up
the lfower girls walked into a hi-5 song L.O.V.E.
every one then knew it was going to be fun wedding then, and every one could relax and just go with the flow

i also made anoother music choice, during the meals, i made every couple who attended the wedding to give me their song, and during the meals, we played their songs, so they could all have a special moment too. aaawwww
