I am a college student looking to interview someone who currently has a career in marketing who attained a degree in marketing and possibly international business. The job itself varies by industry and company you work for.

If you work for a big company, it is all about faking your quota to keep them off your back and from firing you.

If you work for a small company, it is harder to fake the quota and you will have a higher standard of sales and accountability.

The best part of marketing: Time alone to drive and contemplate life when you have to drive 200 miles for a lunch appointment and your guy forgets and is not there.

Worst: You work a prospect for months convincing him that he needs your product, and then after he is ready to sign a contract, some other clown from some other company that just happened to be at the right place at the right time gets him to sign with him.

That is, unless you are the other guy that happens to luck into the contract.

Sales and marketing is fun, it is heartbreaking, it is frustrating.

And when you beat out 10 other guys trying to lock down your client, it is the best job on the planet.

At its worst, you get a job working for some crook that will nickel and dime you out of your commissions and refuse to pay you what he owes you. Even when you get it in writing, there is not a guarantee your boss will pony up what he owes you.

At that time, you can either leave, or take it and deal with it via passive aggression.

Whatever you do, do not sign a non-compete contract (but you will not get hired either), unless it has provisions for you to get out (like a waiting period, move out of state, company breaches contract with you).

ok, I interview human beings each of the time, and it somewhat is what i could anticipate : look at what they have defined in the situation. ie: keen eye for element, extraordinary IT qualifications, imaginitive, verbal substitute qualifications, versatile attitude. Now, in basic terms write down some examples of once you have positioned this into prepare in previous roles / jobs. Dont somewhat take the paper with you, yet writing it down will help you keep in mind it, and you will then carry them up as examples in the process the interview. the important difficulty is in basic terms to be calm, sharp, ask questions. in case you have performed promoting and marketing previously, then grant examples of what you have performed. stable success!
