He'll have to enlist and apply to be accepted as an officer, which as someone already pointed out, might be viable if he has some technical skills or is willing to serve as an interpreter/intelligence analyst. He'll have to qualify under American Army standards to be a comissioned officer...there is no straight across transfer policy as far as I know.

My instructor for transition school to the M1A1 tank series was a former lieutenant in the Swiss army, so I know for a fact it can be done under the right conditions.

I doubt very much if its allowed for a Foreign National just to transfer his allegence to the US Military, he is Foreign Military Personel on loan to the USA for a course.
He has sworn to serve his country and I think it would create problems for him and his family back home if he attempted to desert to the USA.
Your best option would be to go home with him. Or wait until his military service is over and he can apply to come to the USA.

Back in the 70's I went thru basic training with a guy who had been in the British Air Force. He had moved to the states and decided he wanted to be in the military. Of sourse, he had to go thru our basic training.

Very unlikely but call the US Army recruiter. If your BF has special skills they may take him, esp the language skills.
