I'm grilling burgers, homemade for the first time. Do any of you guys have a really great recipe. Not one from some random web site but one that you've actually used?

Many like their burgers in different ways. Some rare, some well done, some with swiss, some with cheddar.

If you are making them for the first time and are entertaining, you might want to lay out different types of cheeses and such so that everyone can create their own work of art.

as far as the meat goes,, i like throwing everything into the bowl, some crumbled shitake mushroom, spring onion, pine seeds, mustard, worcheshire and such, maybe an egg yolk to hold it all together. then spread the patty as large and flat as possible, without falling apart, so that once it is cooked it doesn't shrink into a ball where people can't get their mouths around it..... the burgers grill up nice a juicy and full of flavors.

This is pretty simple, but also very tasty. Simply mix one package of dry ranch dressing mix, with one pound of ground beef. Mix well with your hands, and shape into patties. Grill and enjoy!
