I am interested in losing weight. I dont really like working out but I know that it is essential for health. Please tell me if it is worth the money, what you think of the workout circle, are there usually long waits? Are people friendly? Do you feel stupid working out in a circle? Etc.

I don't think you should join Curves. A lot of people get signed up for gyms and stuff, but never actually go to them. You can do simple exercises at your own house or around your house to exercise. For example, you can go jogging, buy an exercising ball(only around 3 dollars or so) and set up a place in your home or in your backyard and do pull-ups. Or do jumping jacks, lift weights, push ups etc. There are plenty of things to do on your own. Exercising is hard enough, you shouldn't have to pay someone to yell at you from the sides to do 50 more push ups.

Contrary to what that idiot Jean answered, Curves is there for one reason: to get you in shape! My sister went there and lost twenty pounds. The only problem with the gym is that it does get a little repititous. After a few months, you may want to try a regular gym where you can vary your workout.

To comment on Jean; look, she said "...if the life of all women is important to you..." Just wanted to point out what a contradictory statement that is. Calling a baby a fetus still doesn't erase the fact that a fetus is still a baby and a human being with rights. Also, if we abort babies, isn't that also not the life of a future woman? Let's not be fooled by the hogwash--abortion is murder. Sorry, but I had to vent. Curves is a good gym.

If you are a woman, concerned about Woman's rights, and the right to chose your own path in life. Curves is not what you want. A portion (I believe25%) of all money that goes to Curves is donated to the Anti-Abortion movement.

So if you are Anti-Life of the Mother, and Pro Fetus only, sure go ahead and join Curves. On the other hand, if the life of all women is more important to you ... I would say find another gym. All gyms offer circuit training and that is all Curves is.

To me a waste of time and certainly a waste of life.

the odds are that you don't like exercising because you aren't very good at it. being fit and athletic takes effort just like everything else that is worth while in life.
