Why is it, when someone asks a question, if you don't like it why do you report it? Why can't you give it a thumbs down and move on? Someone asked a question that The Virgin Mary did not consent. What's the problem with it? No one is asking you to agree with what another person thinks. They're just looking for opinions.

Sentinel, for the record, my mother has nothing to do with this, it isn't your mother either.

Thank you Donna, that is a good question that I would like an answer to as well.
People must be really insecure in their beliefs if a mere question concerning abortion after a rape shakes the foundations of their religion.
I am under the appeals process for that question already although I doubt that it will do any good.
Sentinel - that was not morally wrong, it was designed to question your religious beliefs concerning abortion, nothing more.
EDIT - I won the appeal and the question and points were reinstated.
This is a small victory for sane logic.

Because people are mean and can't stand to hear someone elses opinions. I don't like the implications of that question either but I would never report them for it. They're entitled to post it if that is their opinion. That's what this site is here for. To post everyone's beliefs and questions, not just the ones some people like.

People are just stupid. That is the best and most truthful answer i can give you. Some people take the internet way too serious :( Just like some people take a METS game way too seriously *coughs*justin*coughs* lol

It's impossible to thumbs-down QUESTIONS any more.
And some questions/answers (insults, random text, torture threats) deserve to be reported.

dunno...it comes off as spiteful to me. I dont thumbs down or report anyone answering my questions..even if they flagrantly disagree. Freedom of speech right?

The question was purely offensive and if the same thing was said about your Mother I suppose you would just have a laugh!
It was morally wrong and the member knew this only too well, and to resort to this kind of ugly smearing only shows the moral character of the one asking it.

I only report obviously vulgar things that you wouldn't want any young person to see if they stumble here by mistake.

I have repeatedly suggested to Y!A Forum that they remove the report button - it's stupid.

some people only see what they want to see, and some people find the quest for knowledge to be evil

To whom are you speaking?
I do not report questions that I don't like.
I ignore them.
