I think it has more to do with the types of food you are eating. If they contain high amounts of sugar or caffeine, it is par for course.

Could be caffeine or blood pressure related. To the folks who said that it is sugar related, here's a clarification -- too LITTLE sugar might cause a feeling of irritation, fast heartbeat, etc., but too MUCH sugar is likelier to make you feel sleepy, thick-headed, etc. There are a very few people whose reaction to sugar is to overproduce insulin, which could cause that effect, but it's statistically unlikely.

There's an old joke about a guy who visits his doctor and says, doc when I do *this* it hurts. His doctor says, then don't do that.

So... if when you eat too much your heart races, don't eat too much. :-)

peace

Our digestive system requires a lot of the total percentage of blood that circulates into our body to work properly, when we ate to much, the effect increases and there are many sintoms one is the heart burns, other is feeling sleepy... all are consequences of our eating to much routine...
Solution; Eat nothing else than a palm of your hand in terms of quantity of meat (fish, chicken, cow) and 2 hand palms of vegetables...
This is like an easy way to put this issue back into control, but it is much better to visit your doctor... He can specifically make recommendations...

Eating too much makes your body concentrate primarily on digesting what you just put in it. If your food contained high amounts of sugar, fat, salt, etc., it can make your heart beat a little hard. Eat lighter meals more often and drink lots of water after your meals.

Have you had your blood pressure tested?

Nerves connected to digestion also run into your heart. When you eat too much, you strain the digestive system. The nerves from your digestive system jump, and cause the same thing to happen in your heart.

nothing to worry about. I worried about the same problem until i seen this. If it only happens after you eat, or more precise, after you eat too much, then you are fine. Quit eating so much.
