Can't believe how many people take a freezer bag to carry their chilled or frozen home. I worked in tesco for the summer and couldn't believe it, how hot do people think the UK is? In Spain no one uses them, they just carry their stuff straight home as usual, and it is always fine. Are we Brits paranoid

Taking a freezer bag to do the food shopping is essential - especially at Christmas. I have been stood in the queue to pay wih a trolley full of food, the ice cream started to melt and a few days later my whole developed food poisoning (including my elderly grandmother) after eating a chicken bought at the same (it was raw in the shop, and well cooked at home).

I have family members who take a cooler and fill that with the frozen stuff.

I shop at various places, and tend to do my frozen-food shopping at the nearest shops during the summer, when it's warm.

In the winter, it doesn't seem to matter how close or far out I shop though, as it is naturally cold outside.

I always bring a freezer bag with me. I buy large amounts of frozen foods. I also run a bunch of errands on the same trip. I live in the US. Your car can get up to120 degrees in no time. I'm not risking getting sick or making my kids or husband sick. Paranoia has nothing to do with it. Its just not taking your health for granted.

I've only taken a cooler with me when the store was over 30 minutes away. I never took it IN the store though. I just kept it in the back of my car and filled it with the cold items.

I take a picnic cooler when I do my weekly shopping, I don't like to take any risk with my food. Funnily enough, guess where I learnt that trick? Yes, Spain, lol.

I haven't got a freezer bag - because I don't posses a freezer, they are a waste of time and electricity in turn - money.

Why do millions of people buy fresh get home and freeze it?...
