INRI is from the Latin phrase, "Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm," which means, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of Jews."
(The Latin "I" and "V" is the English "J" and "U")

INRI is an acronym, an abbreviation for Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum (Latin for "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews"). According to the Gospel of John, this inscription was posted in Latin, Greek and Hebrew over Jesus' head (19:19-20) as a warning to anyone who might challenge Rome's control of that territory.

Ieasus (Jesus)
Nazareus(of Nazareth)
Rex(king)
Ieuderum (of Jews)

it's latin. It's what they put on the cross to mock Jesus.

Of course, the real thing would've been spelled out, not INRI, becuase no one would've known what it meant (like saying J of N, K of J- or JONKOJ)

IESVS NAZARENAUS REX IVDAEORUM

In Latin, this means: Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews (the crime for which Jesus was executed)

In esoteric Christianity and related ceremonial magick, the term also came to be associated with: In Nobis Regnet Ieusis "Jesus Reigns within us" The acronym is sometimes used as a mantra (pronounced IN-REE)

Also, in alchemy the acronym means "Ignus Natura Renovatur Integra "Nature in its Entirety is Regenerated in Fire" A references to the catalytic and cathartic process of chemical and esoteric alchemy. It has an esoteric meaning about the process of spiritual transformation in philosophical alchemy and in esoteric Christianity and certain schools of ceremonial magick.

I.N.R.I. is a Latin abbreviation: "Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudeorum" (Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews). It is supposedly the inscription Pilate had placed on Jesus' cross. He didn't use initials but it wouldn't be readable at the size of most crucifixes.
