I've never used bell peppers berfore (they are the green ones) and I don't know if you are supposed to clean out the seeds or put them into the salsa. Thanks!

Omit the seeds. You should always remove the stem and seeds when using bell peppers.

Also note that the seeds in jalapeno peppers are where the real heat is. When I make salsa I remove these too but some people don't.....it just depends on how hot you like your salsa.

Toss the seeds and and the "ribbing", the soft, white, rind-like stuff. An easy way to clean a bell pepper is to slice off the top and bottom, slice down one side, and roll open, then just use your fingers to remove the ribbing and seeds. It's ok if there are a few stray seeds. Happy salsa making! :)

Remove the seeds and if you want to put flavor into the salsa as opposed to just putting texture into the salsa, use the red or yellow bell peppers. Red, yellow, and green bell peppers are all the same peppers, they just have different ripeness. Red bell peppers are sweeter and actually have a bell pepper taste to them as opposed to green bell peppers that have only a crunch to them.

Omit the seeds.

Slice the top & bottom off, then stick the knife straight through. Roll like a wheel & the center peice will fall out taking the seeds with it. Rinse in the sink to ensure all the seeds are gone.

Using the seeds won't affect the flavor of the salsa at all...however, it WILL affect the texture. Pepper seeds are hard and woody....if you get one stuck in your teeth...it could be very uncomfortable....just cut the pepper in half and quickly scoop out the seeds...

You're supposed to slice the pepper around the seeds, and then throw out the stem with the seeds attached. You don't use them in salsa.

You should most definitely omit. Every chef I have seen on TV that I can remember has cut out the seeds.

yes - don't put them in a ziplock they aren't getting a chance to air out, just keep them whole in one on the bags you get from the grocery store in the bottom of your fridge. they stay fresher much longer that way - or even out on your counter for a few days.
