im needing to do it for drop c tunning on guitar so how do you tune down to a semitone

Drop C is tuning all the strings down 4 semitones - or 4 frets.
So the tuning goes C, F, Bb, Eb, G, C low to high. The strings will be real loose , so if you stay in this tuning you may need thicker gauge strings. A semi-tone is like from A to A#.

Each fret on the guitar represents a semitone.

You drop down one fret for a semitone !
