Christianity VS The world

Christianity is about total sacrifice-the world is about total self indulgence.

Christianity is total self denial-the world is about self.

Christianity is totally about a person (Jesus Christ)-the world is about ME!

Christianity is totally about eternal life-the world is about THIS life!

Christianity is totally dependance upon Jesus-the world is dependance upon NO ONE!

Christianity totally gives an inner peace-the world gives only a temporary peace!

Christianity is about total love-the world is about hate!

Jesus said we would be hated because of Him. He was hated. "Then they will deliover you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for MY NAME'S SAKE.And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another."Mt.24:9,10
"Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man's enemy will be of his own house." Mt.10:34-36

"And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved." Mark 13:13

"If the world hates you, you know it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." John 15:18,19

The world that hates Jesus’ disciples is made up of all the people who are not his followers. Why does the world hate Jesus’ disciples?— Think about it. Who is the ruler of the world?— The Bible says: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” That wicked one is Satan the Devil.—1 John 5:19.

Similarly, Jesus warned that some people would be hostile toward his followers. He said: “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.”—John 15:18, 19.

Christianity nowadays is not what it should be.

As CS Lewis said, Most people today would say that the most important quality in Christianity is "Unselfishness"

How wrong! It's not about "Unselfishness"!

If that's what people believe and see in Christianity, then all i see in Christianity is a christian who can give nothing because he has nothing.

Christianity is meant to be about "Love".

It's interesting that Christianity is so hated, when it's most central tenet is meant to be love.

---
Only the last list item even mentions Love.

So the only disagreement i have with the list is that it appears lopsided towards the "unselfish" side.

Your list only reflects a shadow of what Christianity is meant for.

But even a comprehensive list, including aspects of love and unselfishness and everything else would only be a shadow of what being with God would be like.

Also, the list polarizes christians against the world, when Christians are just as sinful and flawed as the rest of the World.

Christians do not have all of those qualities you've mentioned, and thereby only fuels people's reasons to call Christians hypocrites and taint the faith.

I just hope my comments are constructive criticism to help you form your arguments for Christianity in the future.

All religions seem to be hated for different reasons. I am Jewish and we have been hated throughout time. Muslims are hated now. Christians have probably been hated less throughout history than other religions and I should point out that Christians have done their share of hating.
It was Christian persecution of Jews that led to so much Jewish misery in the middle ages and many "good German Christians" participated or turned a blind eye to the mass slaughter of Jews and Jehovahs Witnesses (among others) in the 20th century.
Many people seem to hate whatever religion they are not and and others simply hate the concept of a higher being.
If you find innner peace and harmony in Christianity then don't care what others think. You do what is right by you as long as it gives you peace and hurts no one else then that should be enough.

Your Question is equally application if I were to ask Why is Islam so hated? Terrorist, 9/11, bombing etc......I could go on the list. But my friends. If I may invite you to study the 12 Volume of History of the Christian Churches which cover the dark ages you will realized that once human use religion as a mean to their political ends and personal gain. Then the evil face of The Devil is seen in this religion. It is not the religion that is hated by the people do for personal agenda that make it to be hated. What has happened to the Christian religion to give a bad reputation in the past especially during the dark ages is happening to the Islamic religion as well. When religion is idolized instead of God and Allah. When you allowed personal and selfish agenda to enter its door. When you mix politic with religion. When its devotee start to murder, torture and put money and political power above the spirit of love, compassion and brotherhood then it will be hated. So my friend the conclusion is not the religion but what man has misuse it for that make it hated. How can you hate God who has provided everything we need to live? If you want to put the blame put the blame on human selfish misuse of religion. Blame the Devil in man not the religion my friend.

Christianity is associated with the Western Powers. You know what the Western Powers did to the rest of the world. After the Western Powers got beaten up by the Japanese in Word War II, people realized that Western Imperialism was not that invincible after all.

Because Christianity is about excusing bad behavior and lying about others. The main reason that Christianity is despised is that people have higher moral standards than those followed by Christians. Simply put, we're too good for your belief system.

If Christianity were really about self denial, don't you think that Christians would be a LOT less likely to act out on their childish impulses than the Christians we see here are? Christianity is extremely undisciplined, and in fact serves largely to excuse undisciplined people.

Lol at all these people attacking Christianity and generalising Christians. Humans sometimes...well most of the time, don't look at the positive things about a belief or religion or group and likes to focus more on the negative. Only few positive-thinking individuals have shown how to not-be-so-hateful e.g Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King. Anyway, I'm not Christian, I'm Muslim but I don't hate Christianity. Less hate and more love is what I say.

Jesus was far more virtuous than any of us could ever be. Yet he was hated. Those who practice true Christianity are hated because the world in which they live is lying in the power of Satan the Devil. (1John 5:19) Jesus Christ warned us that this would be the case (1John 15:18-19, Matthew 10:22)

Ok.
for one thing. I don't have a problem with ANY religion itself; but more than likely the practioners.
and while christianity, in essence, may be a well intentioned religion; it's based around willful ignorance, arrogance, a boastful nature and pride, all of these things contributing to an inability of it's practitioners to question it and think for themselves.

"I never really a hated a one true god,
but the god of the people I hated."
(by the way, that's just a reference. I don't hold pure hatred for anyone.)

Blessed be.
