We're having hot dogs for dinner, but I don't want plain old hotdogs on buns. Is there such a thing as a recipe calling for hotdogs? If so, does anyone have one?

Pigs in a blanket:
1 can of crescent roll dough, you know, the "Poppin' Fresh" stuff from Pillsbury.
1 package of hot dogs
roll each hot dog in the dough, by putting the dog at the wide end of the crescent roll triangle. Roll the dog up so that the skinny end of the triangle finishes it off.
Bake on a cookie sheet according to packaged dough directions. If you want a REALLY fatty meal, slice the dogs lengthwise (but NOT all the way to the very edge) before you wrap them, and insert a slice of cheese. Then wrap and bake.
Pork n' beans
1 Large can baked beans
1 onion
1 package hot dogs
Chop the onion, and put it in a saucepan with the beans. Cover and simmer on medium heat. Slice the hot dogs in bite size pieces, stir into bean and onion mixture. When onions are getting clear, and hot dogs are "puffed up", it's done.
Mac n' Cheese with hot dogs
Make a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (or what ever brand you like) and stir in a package of hot dogs cut into bite size pieces. You may want to heat the dogs first, so they don't cool the mac and cheese.
Enjoy!

I had to answer for only one reason. Your comment on lips and @ssholes. I love hot dogs and know they are made from all the stuff that is left over. Any of the people that think chicken or turkey dogs are better are fooling themselves, also all the stuff that is left over, the extra skin and fat. I love head cheese and know it is what goes in it.
I like to keep things simple and will sometimes fix hot dog and eat them with a little A1 sauce. Cut them up and throw them in a pot of pork and beans or backed beans. Fix them with sauerkraut.
Hot dogs are simple food. Why spend a lot of time to try and make them fancy? Probably will not be as good anyway.

I make hot dog pizza and the kids love it. I buy bread dough, roll it out,put some ketchup and mustard for the sauce, slice hot dogs into pieces and put all over the top, a little cheddar cheese and bake for about ten minutes.
You can also cut the hot dogs into bit size pieces.Wrap each in a bit of the bread dough, and deep fry until golden. Not too healthy but tasty!

Make a "hot dog bar" with choices like:
chili
shredded cheese
sauerkraut
diced onions
dill relish
peppers
or whatever you like
You could also make your hot dogs out of bratwursts or smoke sausage instead of regular weiners, just for a change of pace.
If you have kids, let them (or help them) make up their own crazy hot dogs.
Serve with tater tots/french fries & pork-n-beans. Enjoy!

My mom used to slice the hot dogs and add them to a boxed mac-n-cheese. Or add to spagetti instead of ground meat.
