Hi,
i have bought a ticket and i'll arrive in Beijing on 20 october .
today,i contacted some hotels of beijing , but most of them could not speak english :(
can i find a free room without having reservation when i arrive in china ?
DO I NEED CREDITCARD TO MAKE A RESERVATION ? (this question is important for me)
can anyone help me make a reservation ?

go to www.ctrip.com, I use it all the time and the site is in English and when you call they get you an English operator

I've had great luck with eLong. A choice in the otherwise Chinese menu will take you to an English-speaking operator. They do a pretty good job of matching you with a room that fits your budget and locale specifics. And the service is free to you.
The website is http://www.elong.net and I think this will have a toll-free number you can use in the USA and other countries. Within China I call them toll-free at 800-810-1010

You need Credit Card to make reservation, but it will not be charged until you check in.
Most time, you can walk in hotels in China and get a room for same price you made reservation one month ago because there are a lot vacant room in china( avereage 50%), but you know there is risk, in case all booked out, you have to go around in a total foreign country.
I can help you to make reservation to see if it works without credit card, all I wanted is your name, hotel name and hotel phone number and dates of your stay.

Upon arrival at the Beijing Capital Airport,after you have gone through all the formalities and exit in the concourse hall, there is a desk for Beijing Hotel bookings,head straight for that and select a hotel of your choice.Tourist information is also available in the Arrivals lounge ask for more information at Hotel Reception and Inquiry counter.

it's not necessary to have a credicard to book a hotel.if you have cash it will be ok.and i believe when you arrive beijing you can find many hotels there available.but it will be better to book before coming. if you have friends in beijing ask them to help you to do reservation.or you can tell me which area the hotel located.i can help you.
