if not, how come the Catholics are being accused of worshipping the Blessed Virgin Mary by repeating those exact words?

You know, the very fundamentalists who love to cry "idolatry!" about us praying to the Blessed Virgin Mary, probably would scold an Archangel of God, too. Since they know sooooo much better than the rest of us....

There would be no problem saying "Hail Mary" if she could somehow hear you, but saying it as some kind of a prayer or whatever Catholics do has always been a mystery to me. Do Catholics believe that Mary was a virgin at her death? Matthew 13:55 Siblings! There is nothing to support the fact that the siblings of Jesus were also miraculous.

yes, "Hail Mary" is a simple greeting from Gabriel to Mary.

Catechumen, again you are showing your ignorance in regards to the Catholic faith. This is understandable since it is just yesterday that you decided to become a Catholic. Before that you had a lot of misunderstanding about the Catholic faith. You really need to learn about the truth about the catholic faith.

In the mean time, I would suggest that you keep comments to yourself so you do not appear foolish.

There is a misconception that Catholics worship Mary and this is always going to be a problem, veneration and worship are two very different things. We only worship God, He is the one and only. We venerate those who have gone before us that are models to us all. The archangel makes reference to Mary as "Hail Mary" for the reason that we also venerate her, she is the mother, the womb, the chamber in which God himself came into this world, making her queen and blessed among all humans.
That is our belief, God bless and have a most wonderful day.

Hail Mary in that particular language was just a greeting.
Because the accusers are ignorant. No offense intended.

If one reads the original Greek text in which the Gospel of Luke was written, it states "chaire kecharitomene," which means "Hail, Full of Grace." Hail was usually reserved for greeting kings and emperors. The "full of grace" is used by the Archangel as if it were Mary's title, or her name. She is "Full of Grace," and this, among other things, is the basis for the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The other translations that state, "highly favored daughter," are bogus and heretical.

"Hail" was a common greeting at the time Gabriel made the statement. However the way in which the words are used by most Catholics is not has a simple greeting.

Fr. Catechumen blocked me after I helped to expose him as a fake and a Catholic basher. lol

He then emailed me and blocked his email so I couldn't reply. It's ok though Catechumen, we've all got your number and no one takes your answers seriously.

As for your question tur b.....

No, Gabriel was not worshiping Mary when he greeted her with those words, nor are we worshiping her. However, he did acknowledge that she was SINLESS when he proceeded with the words "Full of Grace."

No the Bible clearly states that even Mary was unclear about this "Greeting" until the Archangel made it clear she had favor in the eyes of God. That was all. She was not to be worshiped or set up as some one above the Son of God. She was just a vessel used of God that His Son could be born of a virgin.
