My choice is to be as positive and gratful as I can so other people will see the light of the Father shining thru me and say'Wow, what's that? I want what she has. A light in the midst of darkness.' I choose to serve God

I came to your question expecting perhaps to see the debate about "free will." There are those who ask how can we have free will when God already knows what our choice will be. Yet, if I offered one of those who ask that if they would rather have a million dollars or a kick in the pants, the fact that I know what their choice will be doesn't obfuscate the fact that they still have a choice. So, I would say to those who don't believe in God, surprise your self and make that choice now because in your heart you know there's a God.
I will know this message has touched you by the thumbs down it gets.

No, not always. There is CIRCUMSTANCes in which we are unable to make choices.

For example as children our parents make choices for us..regardless of the choices children try to make.. parents have the ultimate decision until they are adults.

Diseases or illness such as cancer.. those are not choices but rather circumstances.

And finally, Death. That is a circumstance that MOST don't choose or decide on.

Therefore it could also be said that God is a circumstance and not a choice.

Life is not full of choices. What appear to be choices are actually events predetermined long ago by your karma and by great divine beings who are way smarter than us.
You think you chose whether to have eggs or pancakes this morning? Wrong! many years ago it was determined that either eggs or pancakes would be available for you to eat today and so they knew you would choose one, the other, or skip breakfast.
You think you chose to follow Jesus today? Wrong, you had no choice given your belief set and circumstances.

Yes, sometimes you choose right and sometimes you choose bad, but in the end there's always consequences to follow. I decided to choose God and my vision of where I'm going; is becoming a lot clearer.

Yes. Not deciding is a decision not to decide. Funny how it works that way.

Either way it is an act of my free will, so I am ultimately responsible.

I decide every day -- every minute -- to follow the Living God of Jesus and the saints, and not the fake idol puppet-god of the fundamentalists.

Amen.
