I get ill off of coffee too and not tea. But my heart is my problem. My heart will start to race out of my chest and give me horrible pains. I love iced coffee but I have to stay way.

I think that because it does have more caffeine that it is why you are getting ill.

This is a normal side effect of caffeine that some but not all people might experience and if you do it is best you simply do not drink it.

I have had the same side effects myself with the upset stomach and it also makes me sleepy instead of awake and so i do not drink it.

There is less caffeine in tea than coffee.

It has about three times as much caffeine as tea. Caffeine dilates / restricts the brain's blood vessels, which can cause them to swell & cause the pain of a migraine later. Decaf coffee can help a bit.

There is more caffeine in coffee than most teas. Chai teas have more caffeine than regular teas. Always drink water between cups of coffee, because it can dehydrate you and make you feel nauseated.

You could have an allergy or it is too strong. Try having decaf and see if the effects are different or put more milk or cream in it. The first suggestion is probably better than the later. If after all this you still get ill, give it up. My dad had a similar problem to yours and he switched to hot chocolate and no longer gets stomach pain, which he had when ever he drank coffee.

Yes there's more caffeine per cup in it than tea, it's probably to strong for your stomach, if i drink it in the morning without eating anything my tummy aches really bad.

yes there is more caffeine in coffee than tea. caffeine affects your blood sugar levels..causes heart palpitations, nausea sometimes & headaches - actually, its really bad for you - but even knowing all of that - i still love it!!

Try decaf. You may not be able to tolerate the caffeine. The other thing about coffee is that it is acidic, so be aware if your stomach is sensitive. I think Folgiers makes a version that is less acidic and 'smoother', so you may want to try that?
