In my daily report: "GN-50 CF 12, Tangos 3, 2 punts blocked, Iraqis blowout AQI 18-0" I give the highlights of Tuesday's action in Iraq.

While Tuesday was a bit slower than recent days, the US and Iraqi military continue to press the enemy.

While the media continues to concentrate on Blackwater, the good guys continue to fight an enemy that targets civilians.

Some will call it propaganda. I cannot help you. I can only report the facts of what is happening and ask you to demand that the media begin to cover it.

Steve, that is one of the best posts you've made recently. I hope you had a chance to read my most recent article.

As you know, I have some serious bias against the media. Too many times I've seen their reports on the news I've seen happen. They do get it right about 25% of the time though. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Gunner: You're are also correct, even if that is only a portion of it. They constantly report the negatives, not just the dramatic negatives. They've ignored Afghanistan to the point that people were completely unaware we were still there when I returned in 2003. Still your argument is still correct. It's also about ratings and therefore money for the media. (advertising dollars)

It only means that nothing bad happened to our troops. There is no shock value in reporting the good things we do, so the media doesn't bother. It really is a case of no news is good news. Admitting that we are accomplishing good things would be akin to admitting failure on the part of the media. And as has been pointed out, there is no money in telling the WHOLE truth. The local newspaper here runs TV ads with a paper showing a headline that is VERY old. The headline? "Copter crash kills 13 GI's in Sunni area" They refuse to update or remove the image. Why do you think that is? I hate most media outlets. Sorry, I got off on a rant. Marine, OUT!

John, do you honestly believe that a biased media will cover everything that is going on in Iraq?

I have told people over and over that politics is a big game. If you think one party is more for the American public than the other, you are sadly mistaken.

The media prints what will get the American public pointing fingers at each other so that we lose track of the truth.

Just go back to the 90's when the Republicans took control of the Congress and the Senate. It was a direct result of the disgust of the American people by the Democratic party.

Did the media have anything to do with that? I do believe they did.

Now look at what has happened. The majority of the American public had turned against the Republican party so that the mid-term elections were all for the Democratic party simply because they said they would do something about Iraq.

Now, since they don't have the majority, they can do nothing.

Now, the media (on purpose) reports nothing but the bad so that we'll vote Democrat in the next Presidential election.

Politics is a big game. It's all planned in advance and there is nothing that you or I can do to change that fact.

The best we can do is to pray for our leaders and our troops so that God's will be done.

Shoot, look at it this way. Have you ever turned on your local news and seen positive stuff reported? Ninety nine percent of the news is negative because that is what brings the ratings in.

Remember, Rupert Murdoch owns Fox news, 175 newspaper publications throughout the coutry, the Dow Jones and even the Wall Street Journal.

Gee, I wonder what kind of influence that has over the American public?

Just remember John, pray for your leaders and for your fellow troops. That is your true duty during this war, excuse me "conflict".

Perhaps it means events in Iraq have been routine as of late. The average person doesn't need to know that so-and-so many people died over there. Everyone's jaded to it, they've heard it all before.

Let's face it, only exceptional murders are actually covered on news programs these days. The same thing applies to war correspondence.

The media will only report the news that supports their political opinions.

no what it probably means is that it was a good day with lots of positive things happening, so the media can't report that. because if you remember it's a quagmire worse than viet Nam can't have anything good coming out of Iraq

The news is not negative enough for the media. Good news = low profit.
