if he is broke where did the 20 bucks come from if the poor guy is always broke? i am not sure why society would charge 5 bucks for one cake and 15 for another. a 15 dollar cake is probably better and more moist and chocolately wouldn't you think? it might even have cherries. i think jesus turns out the clear victor in your example.
he gets a quality cake instead of the 5 dollar box cake.

No, he wasn't.
In fact, Jesus would take your $5 cake and make into 500 cakes so everyone could be overweight with him.
Then, he'd take the water, turn it into wine so that no one cares about it anyway.
But, you're not Jesus and you made a contribution of $20.
You can feel good for now...

Jesus would have been 50 lbs overweight, because he would have donated what he didn't need, including excess food. Jesus wouldn't be "broke" because he wouldn't place value in material possessions, and therefore wouldn't notice that he didn't have money. And when he heard voices, he probably would have spoken back because it was probably God calling him. Just my 2 cents.
