Have you heard about the North Pole melting for the first time in recorded history?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/888235.stm

Are you concerned and taking steps make your life more energy efficient or do you think it's inevitable and are planning on buying extra sunblock?

It's not the first time in history the poles have melted. It's the first time in your life that anyone is talking about it.

There is nothing anyone can do as the warming is caused by the Sun, not anything man is doing.

We should all be concerned about it. And, we should all be very concerned about people like Mr Jello. Chances are that type of person offsets what others are trying to accomplish. But this is a free country, so all you can do is feel sorry for them.

I think inevitably more warming will occur. Just like a car traveling at a high rate of speed, it can't stop instantly. But, that doesn't mean we shouldn't do anything about it. It's dangerous to accept the presumed inevitability. It's American to try and do better. That's why I bought a hybrid, changed light bulbs to CF, installed a digital thermostat and adjusted the temperature a couple of degrees up. To think 6 billion human beings are not responsible for environmental change is naïve and dangerous. Our society pollutes each of every second of each and every day.

Sorry Mr Jello, NASA is saying the sun cannot account for the temperature rise as you say.

My husband and I have been living green for a long time, before global warming became a hot button issue. It's important that everyone respect the earth whether or not they "believe" in global warming. Who knows what the earth will be like in 20 or 50 years, but I'd like to know then that I at least tried to do my part to make things better.

Recorded history is a very, very short time in the age of the earth.
Climatologically, very little of what has happened in the last, maybe 6-7000 years compared to the previous 3.9 billion, is significant.
Some people need to gain a sense of perspective.

I'm not convinced that we can prevent GW, but I do believe we should reduce pollution and conserve energy because it makes sense to do so. I seriously doubt the poles will melt anytime soon.

While I think it IS inevitable, I still try to do my part to help as much as I can. I drive a hybrid car, use CFL's in as many lights as I can, lower (or raise) my thermostat that is on a timer, open my windows instead of use AC, recycle everything I can, etc. It may be futile, but I'd hate to see things get worse and NOT do something to stem the tide.

most global warming is caused by methane gas. to help stop this i do not let any of my boyfriends eat beans.

I do not drink bottled water. i do not care about the "green" stuff, but when all that trash goes to the landfill, and i have to pay more taxes to build a new dump, the taxes is the "green" that i really care about

I think prevention is important on everyone's part. I take the train to work now instead of driving.
