Many of the modelling agencies are scams. If they are asking you for money, they most likely are not legitimate. If someone beleives that you will make money in the modelling business they will not ask you for money up front. They will make money when you do.

Good luck.

Listen, I know you want to do this, but maybe right now your folks can't afford it. It's not cheap to start that kind of career. You don't mention how old you are, and chances are once you are old enough to go out on your own, this career might not even been a twinkle in your eye anymore. But if it is meant to be, then it will wait until you can pursue it on your own. What I suggest you consider doing now and until then, is saving as much money as you can. You will need it to get started. I do wish you all the best. Be good to yourself, and respect your parents.

don't think that just because they want to do a photo shoot that you will have a career. They do that to EVERYONE. There way of making money is you spending lots on the photo shoot. That doesn't mean you will get any work! I've seen it happen all the time! It's really a rip! Don't you think it's odd that seven places wanted you? That's not how it works! Your Mom has kept herself from getting ripped off and you getting your hopes up!!! Be grateful!

there are more important things in life than thinking you have a chance at a modeling career - there are no guarantees you would ever get job 1 - they probably just want your money for an over priced photoshoot

A legit model agency will not require you to pay for anything, and any that ask you to put up money is a scam. Please do your research

She is probably scared to loose you. Just tell her that you can control your own life and that you are old enough to make the right decision.

Maybe it's me, but it seems kind of selfish for you to whine if you're still dependant on her and she just plain doesn't have the money.

Use your own money. If you do not yet have enough, save your allowance, babysit, or whatever. She is not going to help, so if you want to do it, find a way to do it without her help.
