How do you dance in a club?

I've never gone ''out'' or to a club before but I'm going out next week for the first time . I have no idea how to dance and dont want to look like an idiot . Would it be okay to just sit and watch at first or would I look like a loser sitting there while by friends are dancing? I'm a girl.

I didn't dance very much the first time I went to the club. It depends on what kind of club you are going to as to how you should dance. Just watch everyone around you for a little while and get an idea of what to do. If its a country bar/club then you actually have to have someone teach you how to dance..I suck at that kind of dancing. Good luck

wow girl you never danced before? Girls have a natural ability to dance, so just do what comes natural. Before you go to the club, play the radio and dance around a little bit in your room. Don't try to mimick the other girls, that will look unnatural and like you are trying too hard. There are so many ways to dance, that it wont really matter how you dance, you just have to feel the music and have fun! When you start to worry what you look like is when you will look silly.

If you are that worried about it, purchase or rent some dvd's that teach you dance moves. That way you can practice in the privacy of your own home. Most clubs, if they are a good one, are so packed on the dance floor no one will notice your lack of dancing ability any way! Just have fun.

My outlook on clubbing is such:

don't worry about looking like a dork. I have most times I've been out. Everyone there is probably drunk and won't remember you in the morning. It's best to just be a dork and have fun. I'm sure you'll get picked up by some guy!

sadly I dance like Elaine from Sienfeld (and if you didnt see that episode it was very bad dancing!)

Its fine to sit and watch why make yourself uncomfortable just dont get drunk and start dancing there is nothing worse than a drunk girl who cant dance on a dance floor!!!

I also think ,maybe you should suggest the next outing with your friends go somewhere that makes YOU feel comfortable next time

I never go anywhere my friends felt out of place and they would never expect me t go anywhere I wasnt comfrotable either

Most people in clubs can't dance really well, if you have any sense of rhythm just match it and you'll be about on par.

Yeah, just grab a drink (water if you are underage) and observe what other girls are doing...dance with a guy and let him guide you or teach you. There is nothing wrong with that.
