I've already tried white zinfandel and sangria. Can anyone suggest a wine that isn't too sweet (like Manischeweitz), but not dry?

A reisling, peisporter, white zin would be your best whites and a lambrusco,, or creme concord would be the best reds if you are looking for a sweet wine that is not dry. Ice wines are very sweet and are a dessert wine and look for late harvest in the title of the wines. The later the harvest the sweeter the grape, the early harvest the dryer the grape or not as much sugar present in the grape yet. Sangria usually has sugar water added to it so it is sweet because of this.

I would highly recommend slightly sweet, fruity white wine such as Sauvignon blanc and Viognair.

Sauvignon blanc is a wonderful fruity slightly sweet wine that is fairly cheap and popular, easily obtained at various stores. It is not dry or oaky like Chardonnay, nor is it tannic and bitter like Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon. My favorite sauvignon blanc includes Caymus Conundrum ($25), Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc ($25); also Chateau St. Michelle ($15) and Mondavi Fume Blanc ($20).

I also like Vigonair, but they are harder to fine. Viognair tend to be more crisp and lighter, less fruitier and much less sweet, but still not acidic and dry like Chardonnay. Personal favorite is Pride Vigonair ($45), but you can also get some cheaper Californian and French Viognair for $20-30.

I really like Beringer Riesling and Fetzer Gewurztraminer. They are both White and not dry but not too sweet.
