If the question is if it's better to have a tummy tuck after you lose weight vs before...Yes. You will benefit from it more if you lose the weight first. If you are losing a lot of weight, the skin may not be as elastic and go back. This is where the tummy tuck will make you look great while you feel great. You are also less likely to need to have the procedure done again.

If you get the tummy tuck and then lose weight you may end up with excess skin. You also run the risk of putting the weight back on if you don't work as hard to get your body to where you want it without surgical intervention.

I think that surgery should always be a LAST resort.. Try losing the weight and toning up the best you can BEFORE getting surgery.. I've seen too many botched surgeries on television and such.. Try the best you can to diet/exercise and tone the tummy and then see what a qualified doctors plastic surgeon recommends.. I believe that doing that is better for the recovery process as well.. good luck

* I have a aquaintance that has had multiple plastic surgery procedures done out of the country and she looks HORRIBLE ! She's all lumpy, bumpy from where she got the procedure and then gained weight in that area ! So, I say at the very least do your absolute best to lose the weight/tone and eat right.. Then it all becomes habit....

Tummy tuck is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
