I got mine piecred about a month ago. It was swollen for a about a week after. Now, its still sore. I think it might be infected, but not puss or fluied has ever come out. There always crust where the ring and ear meet. I've been cleaning it with some seasalt wipes, and anti bactaial soap. I touch it a lot too. I try not too. Should I just clean it more and touch it less or just take it out??

-it's not infected it's just pissed cuz you touch it all the time
-ditch the soap, if it's that irritated you don't need to put chemicals on it... even the mildest soap can be really abrasive
-only use that salt wipes 2 or 3 times a day, don't overdo it
-if the human body needed all that to heal itself the human race never would have survived the stone age
-email me if you need more info i'll be glad to help

I agree - stop touching it!! Have a friend slap you or something every time you touch it if you need help on stopping.

Also, if you clean the piercing too much that can make it harder to heal. The crusties are OK - they're not gonna hurt the piercing since its your body's natural defences. Clean the piercing no more than 3 times a day - once in the morning, once mid-day, and once right before bed. Use a Q-Tip with warm water and anti-bacterial soap to clean it. After cleaning, use the sea salt - but don't overdo it.

PS - You don't need to rotate the jewellery or anything like that, so don't worry about it.

What kind of anti-bacterial soap? things like Dial will just dry it out, if you're using something like that go back to where you got it peirced and they usually have specific soaps like Provone, also keep using the sea salt soaks with water as hot as you can handle is and a chamomile tea bag in water as hot as you can handle it over the piercing for 3-5 minutes, if all this doesn't help get some Tea Tree Oil, just at a pharmacy, its a natural antiseptic and defenitely dont touch it, it doesn't need to be rotated

I had the same problem. I would clean it with peroxide every night before i went to bed and them put neosporin or something on it so help heal it. It worked within like a week and I didn't have to take it out. That was about a year ago and its been fine ever since.

Try not to touch it if you can. I know how it is though b/c I have a conch piercing. It also may be hitting on something when you are sleeping. The crust thing is kind of normal just make sure nothing it really bothering it or "roughing" it up.

Quit touching it for one thing. You might not realize it, but there are tons of germs on your hands from touching other things around you, and you're covering your new piercing with them. Also continue to keep the area clean, by washing it 2 times a day and you'll be fine.

It's normal. I had the top part of my ear pierced 12 yrs ago. It didn't stop hurting for like 2 yrs. It's because it's cartilage.
