What do you people think about this honestly. As people age it seems to mean alot less ,but she's only 17 .

At 17 years old, she is not prepared for a relationship of that maturity. Your mom should put her foot down. If she were in her mid to late 20's, I wouldn't see a problem, but she's way too young to understand adult relationships.

This would all be a different story if she was 18. I guess you just have to think about WHY is she seeing a man this age. What is she getting out of this relationship? If I had to guess, I would say that either you don't live with your dad, or he's not around a lot of the time. Which would have A LOT to do with her decision. When I was 20 I was seeing a man that was 43. But that is what worked for me at the time, and I learned a lot from him.

As long as their relationship is healthy and he treats her well, thats all that should matter. Talk to her about her relationship, maybe that's what she needs.

That reminds of this one guy that married a girl that was only 21 and he was 53. I wondered what do they have in common?? He isnt rich and she isnt either so what would make him appeal to her and her to him?? What would they talk about in their spare time?? Yeah I wondered it alot to...age doesnt really matter but life experience does and when one has so much more then the other it doesnt seem to fit..

Well, since she is under 18 that is against the law. If your mom does not agree she can get the justice involved. I agree as people age it is not so bad, but under 18 is an issue. I was 19 when i met my boyfriend and he was 34. So that definitely caused some opinions from family, but it was not illegal.

your mother is being inrresponsible if she allows this relationship to move further.

a man who is old as your mom, dating a 17 year old is out looking for sex.. and in my mind, has some really big problems.

It would be odd. Where did she meet this guy?!

But try not to judge. Maybe your sister is truly happy with him. If he's good for her, that's all you can ask for.
