I'll pray for that to happen.

You don't think there are any intelligent people here? Oh, oh. I thought you and I were. Guess I was wrong. Then again the Democrats think there should be no consevative section and so on. There are only ten categories of knowledge in the library. I hate to cut any of them out. How about literature, that's mostly fiction anyway. O, or libray science, what's that all about?
Oh, I get it. You just had some spare time and wanted to pull our chain. That was funny.

Personally, I think this is a good general discussion topic, and it could be productive if people chose to make it so rather than to let others tear it down.
So how about ignoring those who post rude comments and such, and concentrating on doing what each of us can to make the discussion more meaningful and productive? That seems like a better alternative to me than shutting everything down because a few people don't play well with others.

I try to be. I even study and use cross ref. mat. but you have a very good point. A lot of the questions are less than shall we say serious. While a great deal are in the later of the rude,jokes,and mocking style. Some folks have no class. Or sense of what to ask or write about. Thanks for pointing that out!

~~~ stlc ,,, Yes,,,there are a few of us here amongst the MTV Demographic. You must have a patient filter and do some speed reading through the Qs. Personally I don't ask many Qs here as there would be too much junk and trash in the responses to wade through. What would be your rationale to deny us who want to take it seriously and help others? Just because there are so many jerks out there who must muck it up for the rest of us? This is one of those Facts of Life that we have to live with. Like waiting in line or getting cutoff in traffic. They're everywhere. Just try and take it in stride. ~ Namaste`
Intelligence is not the opposite of a joking character. Seriousness is.
Since the dawn of history, religion has always been a concept that drives debate and sometimes conflict. If we could NOT joke about it, I would say we were in trouble. Also remember that sarcasm is an important and viable use of language in the context of healthy debate.
It's an idea considering how often it's abused but there are still some serious and intelligent people who use this category for well-thought out answers, unfortunately they are few and far between.
I think that that would be a mistake!
When we look at:
Isaiah 55:11 (New International Version)
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
every time God's word is spoken, (verbally or typed in, as in here), it DOES make a difference, & hearts are touched!
Jesus said that Believers would be persucuted for their beliefs, but that we should perservere. And so we shall!
welcome to yahoo answers
most of the trolls lurk here because they know religion is a highly sensitive issue
no intelligent being will spend his/her day insulting others
i sure wouldn't get a good impression about a different religion if i found some followers of it insulting my beliefs and my people or try spreading lies when no one asked for their opinions just to express hatred and racism , and it certainly won't add to the credibility of that person .
Yes.
Does a Masters degree qualify as intelligent in your present opinion?
(Due to my present disability; I tend to have semi-unstructured hours on here presently. I do somehwhat modify my time here due to my wife's job/hours).
