I THINK it was the one true prophet of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
It's one of the cannons of that religion that climate change is due to the disappearance of pirates. If you plot a graph of CO2 in the atmosphere as a function of the number of pirates in existence, you get a negative correlation.
That is, as pirates became fewer, CO2 went up.
If you type "Flying Spaghetti Monster" into your favorite search engine, you'll probably hit the nut case's site.
(And I mean "nut case" in a GOOD way.)
