I think that's a total lie. Long hair can be just as healthy, if not healthier, than short hair. I have long hair and I have zero split ends (knock on wood). In comparison, my friends with shorter styles often have tons of split ends. It all depends on how you care for your hair. You said in your description that you were too lazy to maintain long hair. Obviously, if you are too lazy to condition it well and cut off split ends, then of course your shorter hair is healthier--you'll be more motivated to keep up a short style than a long one.

i think that overly processed and heated hair is less healthy whether it is long or short. i prefer long hair. i had very long hair for about seven years and i let my husband talk me into cutting it and i hate hate hate it. it takes soooo long in the morning to fix otherwise it looks like crap. when i had long hair i didn't even have to brush it in the morning, i didn't have to blow dry it either because it was super straight. i could just put it in a pony tail or something quick. i guess it is going to take about 3 years to grow my hair back out and i am super sad about it.

having had hair that ranges in length from one inch to almost waist length i say longer is easier to care for in general. the only thing that takes longer is if you have to blow dry it... it does take more time. also hot rollers if you do that takes more time and is harsh on the hair.

good luck with your decision!

I think that it all depends on how often you get it trimmed, you could have hair down to your waist, and if you keep it trimmed every 6-8 weeks like they say you are to do and not over torture it, then I don't think it matters, but who knows I too keep my hair short so I don't have to hassle w/ it, of course I have "bad hair days" almost daily because of the frizz.

shorter hair is defo healthier if you regulary get it cut and keep it in good condition, long hair is lovely but thing of all the split ends you get wash after wash and every time you blow dry your hair, but it you get it cut short you get rid of all the split ends and have healthier hair.
