Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:

"Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem."

"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughtersof Jerusalem."

In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.

******** The reason Muslims use the bible to prove several points is because it is mentioned in the Quran that Allah sent down glad tidings of the Last Prophet to come in the Torah and Injeel (bible).

HOLY QURAN - 007.157 "Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the Torah and the Injeel (Gospel);- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper."

Well, I'm glad muhammad's mother read the bible and got her son's name from it. Too bad he ended up straying so far away from its truths, as well as leading millions of others away from it. But in Jesus name, salvation is coming to the soon to be formerly islamic people!

nice post. and there is always people who will try to pin truth down. take the second guy who gave an answer for example. He used the english translation and say there is no word Muhammad.

isnt he silly?....the name was being translated to the meaning. so if you're name is Mr White, may i use french and call you Mr Blanc instead? so where is Mr White now?.....come on, be realistic when you translate words it changes. Which is why it is best to learn a Holy scripture in its original form. I guess not many of you does. But all muslim uses the arabic language in prayers and all..........peace.

No I haven't. I know the Bible quite well. Many people get their names from the Word of God. I truly believe Muhammad thought he talked with Gabriel, but God doesn't change His Word for any man. God gave His word to His prophet. God says, "I do nothing until I tell my prophets first." Jesus never spoke of Muhammad in the New Testament. In the Old Testament God did say He would make Ishmael a great nation. He also said, "Ishmael's hand would be against every man and every man's hand against him." Has Islam ever known anything but fighting? Can Islam have a personal relationship with God as I do? God says that He is a Living God. A God of life and not of death. A God of love. Everytime God sees little sweet Islamic children or Islamic women or young Islamic men blow themselves up for the name of Allah, God is sad. God is a God of life and not a God of death. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and make Himself known to you. It is Christ who makes Himself known to us. It is Christ who tugs at our hearts and calls us to Him. The Lord wants to know you. In the Book of the prophet Jeremiah, God says, "call upon me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things."

the word mahmoud or mahmadim is mentioned in several places in the hebrew scriptures....and in the jewish liturgy as well. In every case, it cannot be interpreted as a proper name and indeed is never used as such. Only desperate muslims, seeking to justify their belief that mohammed was a prophet, twist the words of the hebrew scriptures in such a fraudulent and deceitful fashion.

It is nothing less than disgusting.
