i once heard a story about the lost years of Jesus that are not included in the bible. he traveled to the East (India, and other parts of Asia) he met Mary Magdalene along the way and supposedly he eventually married her and they had kids. but the bible portrays her a harlot because they wanted to show followers that even people who commit really bad sins can be forgiven. (that makes a lot of sense to me) but i don't know about the marriage thing. I feel like why should it matter if Jesus was married or had kids would that make him any less of a savior?

The Holy Spirit we talk to told us that there was no sexual relationship between Mary Magdalene and Jesus whatsoever. Since she was a very beautiful woman, she tried to attract Jesus but Jesus told her what His mission is this world was which she eventually believed. The Holy Spirit also told us that Jesus said to her something that she became depressed and did not come out of her house for several days. When she emerged, she followed Jesus and realized the sins that she had committed.

According to the Holy Spirit, she was not a prostitute but something more like a nymphomaniac because she was very beautiful and could easily attract men.

She became an ardent disciple of Jesus, and that was just their relationship. When Jesus resurrected and called her name, she was startled when she realized it was Jesus. She said “Rabboni” (John 20:16) and not words likely used by a lover or a spouse.

Also, when Jesus was crucified, she was watching from afar. Isn’t it that usually, the close relatives are closer to the dying while the others are just spectators? Another thing, Jesus entrusted His mother to His beloved disciple (a male person) (John 19:27 – the disciple took her into his own home). If Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married, Jesus could have entrusted His mother to her.

Okay first of all - the Bible does NOT portray Mary Magdalene as a prostitute or otherwise. These are all different women who were combined in a speech by Gregory the Great in 591.

Now....most scholars (as in professors who have made it thier lifes work to study this stuff) don't believe that Mary Magdalane was ever married to Jesus or his lover or the mother of his children, or anything else. The gnostic Christian text "Gospel of Mary Magdalene" shows her as an apostle on par with the men in the group, who understands the teachings of Jesus better than the others -causing Peter to get pissed and throw a little tantrum at the end of the text.

The whole kissing thing that Dan Brown mentions in his book and bases his whole story on is a word that is missing in one of the texts that was found in the Nag Hammadi Library.. and he filled it in with "kissed." So, even if the word should be kiss, there was a belief back then about the ability to essentially pass knowledge by way of a kiss -nothing sexual in it at all.

Anyone who knows anything about Christian theology knows that not only is this idea is not backed up in the bible, it also would make no sense theologically. On the other hand, suggesting this has proven a good way to sell books and make movies.

There is absolutly no proof in that in scripture or in early Christian writers. It is a tool by which folk like Dan Brown and others can make money.

There is no indication *either* way in "accepted" scripture. Other non-canonized books would seem to indicate that there was something between them, like marriage.

The stout denials of believers show how little they understand about their religion as they assume that this would make christ less than what they believe him to be.

There's no reason to think that she was. It would have been mentioned by those who knew him, traveled with him and wrote about him.
